Who am I?
My name is Lindsey, and I am a wife to a wonderful husband and mother to five beautiful children under the age of six years: four girls and one boy. I am a disciple of Christ and I am fulfilling my role to my husband and family as a homemaker.
I am homeschooling our seven and five year old girls, and we are having so much fun learning together. I do not always do it right: my kids might go four days without a bath, there is dust on the shelf, and crumbs on our floor, but my husband and I are seeking diligently to honor God in our life together and in our home.
Only in the power of Christ and by His mercy will I reach the end of my life and hear, “Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all.” How I pray that I might glorify God through every word that comes from my mouth and every thought that enters my mind. This blog is a little bit of my journey to become the Proverbs 31 woman. Where I fail exceedingly, He succeeds mightily!
What are some things that I enjoy?
Beyond my faith and my family, I love all things crafty! I love to sew. I taught myself a couple of years ago. I began making baby accessories and cloth diapers, but over the last year I have broadened my scope to include quilting and clothes making. I enjoy using my skills for both my family and others.
I have to admit I am a little bit of a Pinterest junkie, however, I try to make myself use a few things from Pinterest every month to ensure that my time on there is not wasted. I have fun trying new recipes, homeschooling ideas, and home decor, among other things. You will find me sharing many of my projects here on Road to 31. Click below to follow me on Pinterest!
What The Road to 31?
I began The Road to 31 because I needed it. That is a very simplistic answer, but it is true. My husband and I talked about it for quite some time, because I did not just want to jump on the bandwagon of blog writing homemakers just for the “Hey of it.”
I am very passionate and convicted about many things. My husband and I both felt as though I needed a place to pour these thoughts out. Being a mom of five very small ones, it is sometimes very discouraging for me not to have someone or something to pour out my mind and heart to during the day. This blog gives me a place to have one cohesive thought a couple of times a week.
This blog gives me a place to take a break and unwind in my own way. It makes me feel a little more human. If you are another stay at home mom of small ones I know you understand where I am coming from. Thank you for joining me here, as I know that there are many others just like me.
My prayer is that Road to 31 would fulfill its intended purposes: encourage other Christian women in their journey to becoming the Proverbs 31 woman as I catalog my own trials and experiences. Thank you, once again, for joining me. I pray that God will bless each of you and only take you deeper in Him.
